There are some great looking and performing boats out on the market including a lot of imports. What boat are you using for your fishing trips and what electronics are you running and why?

Also tell us what motor(s) you are running and your top speeds.
Stop looking behind you, you are not going that way...

Ruffnek Raker X16
Evinrude 90 HP V4 2-stroke outboard
Lowrance Elite 5 Chirp (console) and Lowrance Elite 5x Chirp (bow) (interchangeable due to the same mount and transducer)
MotorGuide 75lb Trolling Motor
Best speed 77 kph one-up very light weight
General speed tournament weight about 70 kph

Upgraded from a Splash Bass Mk1 with 60 HP Yamaha

Found the Raker to handle bad weather a lot better.
Great rod locker
Ample storage
Very good ride (especially in rough water - think due to the slightly deeper V)

4.0m Aquacat race boat
Suzuki DT40 motor
47km/h with 2 up
65lb motor guide trolling motor (remote control)
Elite 7 on transom, Elite 5 at bow

Custom made removable front deck for all equipment.

Why?
Previous boat swamped/sank at de Hoop at "jetty" recovered the boat, used the motor on the new boat.
3rd boat I've sank.

Damaged shoulder, old age, nice and light, safe on the water, keeps my feet wet, CAN'T SINK.
Can use it to fish the one weekend carp, kurper, bass and then go play with the grand kids and the tubes the next.

This is my fishing vessel, a Monster Bass, although it is no longer on the trailer - It stays on the back of my bakkie, ready for use. I must just remember to load the batteries!
It is driven by a 65 lb Watersnake trolling motor
I have two anchors on it as the wind can quickly take the boat on tour due to the large 700 mm tubes!
I am very happy with it!
Bass fishing is my passion!
Making my own plastic lures is my hobby!
Catching bass on the lures I make is fulfilling!

I am very lucky to have a Bass Seeker 480 hull with a Yamaha 90 two stroke and a 70lb x 24v trolling motor plus some Lowrance electronics, an Intex Mariner 4 wit a 30lb trolling motor and an Explorer V boat. I will post some photos soon.

I had my boat build on Bassing.co.za forum, and the pics were stored on Photobucket.
None of these exist any more so it's back to the drawing board .........

@StephenK, would you fish with this boat on dams like Rust de Winter and Loskop where there are crocodiles?

Yes, no problem, when I worked at dwaf, we encounter a lot of crocs, at Malalane in KNP we had the pleasure of a croc biting a 3m rubber duck and the people on the boat were traumatised, but continued to the bank, patching it with contact adhesive.
The best, a hippo biting a rubber duck at the bank, as my boss jumped off and ran.

At Hans Strydom dam we encountered crocs longer than the 4.2m boat.

At Goedertrouw (Lake Phobane) I looked a croc in the eye, it was on a ledge above me.
MadPorra was also there during the Spoonplugging course given by Fran Myers, also posted on Spoonpluggers.net

My ma het nie bang kinders grootgemaak nie.

This boat has x6 air compartments

'ello chaps

I run a vx70 with a 200efi dangling off the back. Runs out at about 117kph one up at tournament weight, and drops about 10kph with an additional body on board.
I run full Humminbird units with 360 - a must have these days.
Its stock standard, but its a bullet proof brick sh*thouse rig with no nonsense attitude. Its not the best rough weather rig but if you drive it right then you'll be fine.
