We visited Nottingham dam before the lodge was built and, fishing on a boat without a fish finder, we resorted to checking the structure on land and guestimated the structure in the many deep bays of this amazing farm dam which stretches about 7 km from wall to inflow!
The dam is dotted with koppies throughout and situate in a game reserve with huge crocs, kudu , elephant and many other fauna.
As far as fishing is concerned, I believe the dam record is around 8 kilos! However, we were able to catch many around 4 kilos.
The farm is one of the biggest orange producers in the southern hemisphere.
I believe the lodge is very upmarket. Prices are around US $100 - $120 per day incl meals. Boats can be rented at US $ 50 per day or US $25 for half day

Bass fishing is my passion!
Making my own plastic lures is my hobby!
Catching bass on the lures I make is fulfilling!

A group of us fished Nottinngham in 2014. The accomodation was top notch and the food was excellent. Unfortunatly, the fishing was off, possibly due to the unseasonal rains causing the water to muddy up.
The biggest single reason that I have not returned is the nighmare of crossing the Beit Bridge border (both sides)
